This article explores how secondary and tertiary educators, as well as researchers, perceive systems thinking in relation to their individual practices through systems thinking workshops and small group interviews. Using inductive analysis, five major themes relating to the anticipated challenges and affordances of systems thinking were identified. These themes guided discussion surrounding curriculum reform, leading to a proposed pathway for implementing systems thinking in the classroom and laboratory.
